It totally depends on the capacity of the UPS rating battery capacity (AH). It can give you a battery backup anywhere from 10minutes to 30 minutes and more depend upon battery sizing.

It is not recommended because the batteries will self-discharge if the UPS is shut down at every night. And it will affect the health condition & life of the UPS.

The life of ups you should consider 5 to 7 years but it is totally depends on preventive maintenance and health checkups. Secondly temperature condition also make affects the life of ups. So you should consider replacing the UPS between 5-7 years.
